What will change, and what will not

Right now, nothing is limited. Every search you run is free, however many you run. The add-in already counts how often semantic search is used, but that counter does not restrict anything — it exists so the free allowance can be set from real usage rather than guessed.

When Pro arrives

Free accounts will get a daily allowance of semantic AI searches. Keyword search and mailbox indexing will stay unlimited on the free plan, because those cost us nothing to run — they happen entirely on your own machine.

The allowance and the price will both be published on this page before they take effect. We would rather tell you first than surprise you with a limit.

Why semantic search is the part that gets metered

Keyword search and indexing run locally in your browser, so they cost nothing to provide and are not worth charging for. Semantic search is what makes Inbox Search different from Outlook's built-in search, and it is the part with real cost behind it, so it is the part a paid plan is built around.

Your data is not part of the pricing

No plan changes how your email is handled. Processing happens on your device on every plan, and email content is never sent to our servers. See the privacy policy for what is and is not stored.

Payments

When Pro launches, payments will be handled by Polar as merchant of record. The terms of service already describe how plans, renewals, cancellation and price changes will work.
